Join Steve and Lisa McBride, in this workshop to educate participants in the world of artisanal cheesemaking. Participants will learn a brief history of cheese and cheese making traditions, and learn about how much the cheese industry has changed as it has been industrialized. The workshop will focus on how to make a variety of artisanal cheeses right in your own home from either fresh or store-bought milk. Participants will see the making of a Brie cheese as well as a review of the process for making Brie cheese and fresh cheese curds. Towards the end of the workshop, freshly made goat cheese curds will be fried up ‘Saganaki style’ to serve to participants. This is a demonstration class with no hands on element.
