The art of butchery is an age-old skill. In this class, we break down a side of a locally-raised pig into its fundamental cuts and then right down to the steaks you all know and love. You will learn where the familiar pork cuts come from as well as the lesser known but equally delicious selections. We will talk about how and why we use specific cuts in certain types of dishes. You will all leave with a meal of fresh pork to cook up when you get home. This class is mainly demonstration-based but if you wish you can roll up your sleeves and get involved.

  • Class begins 10am. Class runs between 3 to 4 hrs.
  • Class price is $140 plus HST per person.
  • If particular cuts of meat or products are unavailable at the time of class another product of Cod Sounds choosing will be substituted without notice. Please ask if there is something very particular you are coming to see demonstrated.
  • The home of the Cod Sounds Cookery School is located in The Compton House Inn, 26 Waterford Bridge Road
  •  Maximum of eight people per class. This enables a hands-on and personal approach so you can get the most out of your learning experience.
  • Your purchase of a cooking class is non-refundable. If you are unable to make the class you have chosen you can use your purchase for any other class offered as long as space is available.
