The Art Of Pastry - October 1, 2017

Crafting your pastry is at the heart of comfort food. There’s more to a pie than its ingredients; it is about the loving care that goes into its creation. And of course we make the best ones here in Newfoundland and Labrador with the freshest of berries and fruit available! Understanding the basics of pastry and fillings will give you the confidence to take on your own projects at home. We will cover several styles of pastry, a short crust, a hot water crust for a british pork pie with local pork and a choux for those cream puffs, a family favorite. We will start at the beginning and work through them together, learning tricks and tips along the way. You will be crafting all these pastries yourself so roll up your sleves and be prepared to get into it 🙂 Once finished class we will sit with a cuppa tea and enjoy our creations. This class is a mix of hands-on and demonstration.

Book your room at The Compton House and spend the night!
