Take a hike with Cod Sounds’ Experiential Tourism pioneer, Lori McCarthy, along the scenic Newfoundland Coastline searching for all kinds of unique local edibles.

From Mallard Cottage, Lori will take you to a section of the World Famous, East Coast Trail, known as the Sugarloaf Path. Your hike will take you along the scenic Newfoundland Coastline always on the lookout for local wild foods. Along the way there’ll be lots of opportunities for pictures and just admiring the view.  From ground berries to wild herbs suitable for tea or a shrub, you’ll never know what you might find along the way. The hike will return you back to Mallard Cottage for a delightful family style brunch.

  • This hike takes place in Quidi Vidi Village . Meet time is 10 AM at Mallard Cottage.
  • This is a 3 hour package which includes brunch at Mallard Cottage
  • Trail difficulty: moderate- with rocky uneven terrain . Hike portion is 1.5 hours
  • Maximjum of 12 people per hike, to ensure you get the most out of your experience. 
  • The cost for this package is 100.00 CAD plus HST children 12 and under 50.00 CAD plus HST
  • Please dress appropriately, weather is often unpredictable dress in layers, and hiking boots are always a good option. 
  • Bring your own water, and please let us know of any existing medical conditions that we may need to be aware of.
  • All hikes are weather defendant and can be cancelled within a 12 hour window, in which case you will be fully refunded.
