Experience wild Newfoundland & Labrador and dive deep into our cuisine. Your Cod Sounds experience includes beach-combing and woods-foraging, along with game butchery, wood fire cooking and shared cooking nights. You will be deliciously close to our land and sea.
This 3-night experience is for the food enthusiast who seeks rustic outdoor ocean side adventure and anyone who wants to experience a place through it’s people, their culture and their unique food. Your culinary excursion includes lodging, day trips and an invitation to join in the making of all your meals.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: is the price all inclusive?
A: The price of $3000 + HST CAD ($1500 + HST per person) includes your accommodation in a double occupancy room, breakfasts and food for lunches and suppers, all workshops, all guiding. Please add $250 + HST for single occupancy. You are welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages. The price does not include your flight to Newfoundland, or ground transportation.

Q: How should I pack for clothes?
A: Expect frosty-cool mornings and evenings, with warm periods during the day. Bring appropriate footwear for hiking through the woods, pack layers, and rain gear for our often wet and windy climate. Tours go ahead in all weather.
Q: Where do I sleep?
A: All guests stay in rooms with double or queen beds. There is a main lodge where we will gather for meals together with other homes in the town being used to accommodate everyone. These are Air B&B homes and you will be able to see all of your accommodations before booking.
Q: How do the shared/team meals work?
A: Breakfast is provided by Lori, our guide and innkeeper. Lunches and dinners will be sorted out by our workshop guests and guides. Food is provided, and we’ll be working with local wild ingredients each day, which we’ll make into easy to assemble meals. We’ll not only be learning about the local wild edibles and meats - we’ll be working with them every day in the kitchen. The coming together of the evening meals is about being a shared cooking experiences where you roll up your sleeves and get hands on, from bread making to wild rabbit ravioli!
Q: Do I have to attend every outing?
A: It’s your job to have a great time and enjoy yourself, so if you’re beat, and just need some R&R, you’re welcome to relax, and have some time to yourself.
Q: What kinds of things in the area will we explore?
A: This is an experience designed to immerse you in our landscape, culture and food. Our goal is for you to spend time enjoying the ocean side and woods in the area. If weather permits, there will be an excursion at sea. Eat it Wild takes place in an area within 1 hour of the capital city of St. John's therefore you can make plans to see other sites before or after your stay with us.
